That’s quite a topic for a blog these days. We hear of bad news, sad news, and outright mad news, but unfortunately, we don’t hear lots of good news. That’s when each of us needs to dig down deep (the 3 D’s) to find ways we can let the general news tone run past us, missing us in its sweep to leave its mark upon our psyche.
Canadian Strata Fund Track Solutions (CSFTS) is in the business to help you with that because peace of mind is one outcome from having confidence in the stability of your home. And that confidence comes from deliberate planning and execution aimed at keeping your home in tip top shape.
Last time we talked about understanding the true condition of your property. Now let’s see what we can do about extending the remaining useful life of the major systems in your building.
First of all, what on earth is a “system” in my building? Well, here are two examples: when you turn on your water taps you expect to get…….water. When you turn on a light switch, you expect to see, well, everything that was just seconds ago in the dark. But where does the water come from and how did it get here, and how can such a small thing like a light switch light up my room? The simple answer is “the systems.” One for water, and one for electricity in this case.
There are 10 – 12 major systems in your building, each one dedicated to the task of delivering what you’ve come to expect as you stroll through your home flicking switches, turning taps, dumping garbage, etc., etc. Each system is made up of +/- 45 components. Each component has a maintenance &/or replacement history to keep track of. It’s not simple. But because it’s our job to inspect & track these systems, we make it look just that…. simple.
And simple means peace of mind.
And peace of mind means keeping your psyche in good shape as well.
